State Supported Living Center Opportunities

The state supported living centers provide residential services that support individual choice and promote dignity and independence for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Each facility employs between 800 and 1,400 people in positions that include:

  • Physicians
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Nurses (RNs and LVNs)
  • Medical technicians
  • Registered therapists
  • Psychologists
  • Pharmacists
  • Custodians
  • Food service workers
  • Rehabilitation therapy technicians
  • Direct support professionals
  • Administrative professionals

The state supported living centers are located around the state. Each facility is home to 150-600 people with intellectual and physical disabilities. By working at one of the state supported living centers you will gain unique experiences, and satisfaction in knowing that you make a difference in someone’s life. Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must pass a drug screen and criminal history background check; some positions may require licensing and/or certification.

How to Apply

You can search for jobs through the CAPPS Job Center. Once you find a position in which you are interested, you need to complete a State of Texas Application. The application can be completed online or completed on paper and faxed, mailed or dropped off at the living center.
