Nonprofit organizations

Many communities in Texas, especially those in highly populated areas, have access to nonprofit organizations that provide services to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Some of these organizations offer services and resources specifically for the autism community, while others also assist people with other disabilities. In some instances, state agencies contract with nonprofit organizations to provide services to the agencies' clients.

Some services provided by nonprofits are provided free of charge, while other organizations charge for services. Generally, fees charged for services are kept as low as possible to cover only the cost of providing the services. Some organizations may even provide grants of money to families, which allow them to purchase on their own the services and supports they need.

The Autism Treatment Center of Texas, Autism Community Network and Easter Seals are just a few examples of nonprofit organizations in Texas that provide autism services to individuals and families. We encourage you to explore your local community, as well as surrounding communities, to locate services that may be available from nonprofit organizations.
