Moments make a difference

Silver Lining, a volunteer outreach program of the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS), brings volunteer visitors and a bright perspective to people who live in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and state supported living centers. Silver Lining's goal is to support the need for quality care and meaningful connection for a growing aging population.

Silver Lining offers a range of flexible volunteering styles for individuals, families, groups and corporate partnerships. The opportunity to visit one time or build a relationship over time through multiple visits is available to anyone with a desire to share their time and build relationships.

Silver Lining expands on the solid foundation created by the DADS Adopt A Nursing Home program.
