The federal TEAM-Employment Act (H.R. 604) would amend the Rehabilitation Act to realign preferred outcomes for individuals with significant disabilities, and streamlines public funding by requiring the vocational rehabilitation systems to actively engage with other state entities. In addition, the bill would promote innovation and accountability through demonstration grants aimed at implementing reform strategies.
Two other transition bills (TEAM-Education Act, H.R. 602, and TEAM- Empowerment Act, H.R. 603) have also been introduced. To read these bills or track their progress, go to http://thomas.loc.gov/ and search for the bill number.
