Single Service Authorization System

The purpose of the Single Service Authorization System (SSAS) project is to consolidate the service authorization and claims payment functionality of Intellectual Disability Client Assignment and Registration (ID CARE) and Service Authorization System (SAS) into a single service authorization system for all DADS Long Term Care Services and Supports (LTCSS) programs.

What's New

SSAS — Points of Contact

The following functionality will be retired from the ID CARE system and implemented through the Single Service Authorization System:

  • Entry of Intellectual Disability/Related Condition (ID/RC) Assessments
  • Entry of Individual Plans of CARE (IPCs)
  • Entry of client movements (non-state supported living centers only)
  • Entry of Home and Community-based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living (TxHmL) Interest Lists

Additionally, this project will:

  • Automate the submission of assessments, IPCs and client movements for the Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) and the Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) programs
  • Automate Nursing Facility Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Emergency Dental and Customized Manual Wheelchair (CMWC) forms that are currently manual processes
  • Automate Specialized Services forms requiring a Pre-admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR)
  • Automate the Intermediate care facility/facilities for individuals with an intellectual disability or related conditions (ICF/IID) Augmentative Communication Devices (ACD) forms
