Targeted case management

Local authorities (LAs) provide Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Service Coordination to individuals in the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) priority population in their local service area. IDD Service Coordination funded by Medicaid is referred to as IDD Targeted Case Management (TCM).

The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services has directed the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and DADS to change the way LAs are reimbursed for IDD TCM. The new methodology was implemented on Sept. 1, 2011. This webpage provides links and documents to assist an LA with making the claims processing transition.
