Opportunity to Contract with DADS to Become a Residential Service Provider for the Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) Program in the Austin Area

The Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) is issuing this alert to providers and other qualified entities interested in becoming a Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) provider of residential services in Region 7, the Austin area. DBMD is a Medicaid waiver program serving individuals with deaf-blindness with an additional disability resulting in a need for DBMD services.

DADS has been notified that there is a need for a provider in the Austin area to serve 12 individuals under the Licensed Home Health Assisted Living service category of the DBMD Program. Licensed Home Health Assisted Living serves individuals in the DBMD Program in a one to three bed residential home that is staffed 24 hours a day.

DBMD Providers must have current Home and Community Support Service Agency (HCSSA) licensure with at least the Licensed Home Health Services (LHHS) category to be eligible to provide services in the DBMD Program. New DBMD providers in a region must serve all counties within the region.

Please contact Paul Straka in Community Services Contracts at DADS by phone at 512-438-3460 or email at paul.straka@dads.state.tx.us if you are interested in becoming a DBMD Provider in the above listed region.
