CDS Option webinars

Town hall meetings

The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS), in collaboration with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, held a series of  town hall meetings across the state in the summer of 2011. The opportunity provided individuals, family members, service providers and the public information about the CDS option.

Consumer Directed Services Option webinar: It's About Choice!

Because DADS is dedicated to developing and improving service options that are responsive to individual needs and preferences, in May 2011, the agency offered training opportunities on the CDS option for community services case managers and MR authority service coordinators. The purpose of the webinars was to:

  • Define the CDS service delivery option;
  • Identify roles and responsibilities of each party involved in supporting an individual who chooses the CDS option; and
  • Answer questions regarding participation requirements.

DADS provided this information to assist case managers and service coordinators in becoming familiar with all necessary forms, actions and processes to describe the CDS option to people interested in receiving this service.  Below you will find links to the webinars that were hosted on May 25, 2011.  You will also find links to questions and answers that occurred throughout all trainings.
