Long-Term Services and Supports Quality Review Biennial Summary Report 2015 reports on individuals' experiences with long-term services and supports (LTSS) administered by the state. The report also includes data about quality of life, which encompasses aspects of a person's life that are not necessarily related to the direct delivery of services or supports (e.g., whether a person has relationships or friends), but helps with understanding how people feel about their quality of life. (Published January 2015)

Nursing Facility Quality Review 2013 reports on the quality of services provided to nursing facility residents across the state. The report includes data obtained through assessments of resident satisfaction with their quality of life and onsite reviews of quality of care. The report is used to benchmark the quality of nursing facility services, trend progress in quality improvement and inform the state's interventions to improve long-term care services and clinical outcomes. The Quality Assurance Early Warning System for Long-term Care Facilities 2014 (PDF) is a report on the risk assessment tool that is used to identify those nursing facilities most likely to need the technical assistance that is available through SB 1839 Quality Outreach. Volunteer-Supported Decision-Making for People with Cognitive Impairments A Report on the San Angelo Alternatives to Guardianship Project (PDF) contains the evaluation of a pilot program to offer an alternative to guardianship for people with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD) who live in a community setting and for people with other cognitive disabilities who also live in a community setting that does not impede self-determination and helps maintain person-directed lives. Report on Culture Change at Brenham State Supported Living Center (PDF) contains an evaluation of a pilot program to implement the culture change model of care at a state supported living center. The Brenham facility was chosen based on the physical characteristics of the campus, staff size, turnover rate of staff, residents' level of need and disability, number of confirmed abuse allegations, frequency of the use of restraints, opportunity for community involvement and leadership of the center. Consumer Direction Workgroup Biennial Report to the Texas Legislature provides information to the Texas Legislature as required by Government Code Section 531.052(g). The Consumer Direction Workgroup (CDW) is established by Texas Government Code, Section 531.052, to advise the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) about the delivery of services through consumer direction in all programs offering long-term services and support. Permanency Planning — The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is charged with monitoring child placements and ensuring ongoing permanency plans for each child with a an intellectual disability residing in an institution in the state of Texas.
