About the Council
Members are appointed for six-year terms with the terms of three members expiring Feb. 1 of each odd-numbered year.
According to HB 2292, the Texas Aging and Disability Services Council "shall study and make recommendations to the executive commissioner [Texas Health and Human Services Commission executive commissioner] and the commissioner [DADS commissioner] regarding the management and operation of the department, including policies and rules governing the delivery of services to persons who are served by the department and the rights and duties of persons who are served or regulated by the department."
