A Consumer Directed Services Agency (CDSA) provides financial management services to people who receive certain services from the Texas Department of Aging and Disabiltiy Services (DADS) who have chosen to take responsibility for coordinating their own services through the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) Option.
Beginning June 1, 2012, Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is no longer mandatory for Consumer Directed Servcies (CDS) Employers. CDS Employers can choose if they want to use the EVV system or use paper time sheets. CDSAs will be contacting CDS Employers about how they will be participating in EVV.
The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) would like to clarify procedures that providers are to follow upon receiving an FVV device that is not functioning properly. If a provider agency receives a malfunctioning FVV device from Sandata (i.e., a device that was determined not to work upon initial receipt by the provider agency), the provider agency should:

As of Oct. 9, 2012, New and Updated Reason Codes are available for selection in the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system when making changes in Visit Maintenance. A list of the new and updated reason codes and corresponding definitions is available on the DADS EVV Website (www.dads.state.tx.us/evv/reasoncodes.html). Please be sure to review the updated reason code list and definitions as this will assist you in selecting the most appropriate reason code when making changes in Visit Maintenance.

Training for the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system is available through independent computer-based training (CBT). The CBT will allow you to take self-paced training at your convenience. Please note that all of the training modules in the course will need to be completed in order to meet the training requirements necessary to access the EVV system.
